PURE unveiled its new ONE Mi compact portable digital and FM radio onto the market. It is palm-sized radio that has a LCD display, it comes with 8 digital preset and 8 FM presets. The ONE Mi has a USB port which is used to charge the device and also used for software updates. It has a full-range 2.5-inch drive unit with 1W output. HP announces its new Mini 100e Education Edition Netbook for Schools. The netbook was designed to help schools around the world to acquire affordable, reliable computers. It gets a 10.1-inch LED-backlit display with a 1024×600 resolution, it is powered by an Intel Atom N455 processor and 1GB of DDR3 RAM. There are other specifications which includes WiFi connectivity, an integrated worldwide modem that is compatible in all countries with the V.92 standard for dial-up internet connection, an integrated Webcam, a spill-resistant keyboard and a handle for carrying. The new HP Mini 100e Education Edition Netbook will run either Windows XP Home, Windows 7 Starter or SuSE Linux OS and priced under $300.
Gateway yesterday announced two new Notebooks in the Gateway ID Series, the ID49 and ID59 notebooks that both comes with a lightweight and thin design, both new Notebooks of the ID Series comes with a unique aqua-blue touchpad that glows when touched. They are both powered by Intel’s Core i3 and Core i5 processor, respectively. They feature up to 500GB Hard Drive, and up to up to 8GB of memory. The Gateway ID49 gets the NVIDIA GeForce GT330M graphics card while the ID59 gets the NVIDIA Optimus technology that will automatically switch between an integrated Intel HD graphics and the GT330M. The difference between both is that the Gateway ID49 has a 14-inch HD Ultrabright LED-backlit display and weighs 5.07 pounds, while the Gateway ID59 has a 15.6-inch HD Ultrabright LED-backlit display and weighs 5.5 pounds. Other specifications includes WiFi support, 1.3 Megapixel webcam, a DVD Writer and multi-in-one card reader. The Gateway ID49 and ID59 Notebooks starts at $679.99 and $799.99 respectively.
In addition to the Portege R700, Toshiba also announced its new dual screen libretto W100 Ultra Mobile Concept PC. According to Toshiba, the Libretto W100 goes beyond slates and netbooks. The W100 comes with a 7-inch multitouch display with a 1024×600 resolution, it also comes with a bottom screen which can be used as a virtual keyboard or virtual touchpad with haptic feedback. The device provides six keyboard modes which includes simple, full, numeric 10-key and split thumb.
