If you are paying a close enough attention to the smartphone realm, you should have know that Acer is doing this business. But unfortunately until now, Acer still hasn’t got anything like a killer phone to compete with other big player such as iPhone, N8, or the DROID family. But maybe this 4.8″ smartphone from Acer will be their way to gain the market’s attention and start playing seriously. Why did I say that? This 4.8″ screen makes it similar with the Dell’s 5″ tablet, Streak, only this unit has a 21:9 aspect ratio that making it long, thin, and is a great device for watching movies. The phone is also has one of the best screen resolution that ever been made for a mobile phone, it is 1024 x 480 pixels. It will have a full metal body, HDMI output, 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11n WiFi, and 3G HSDPA. The phone will run several version of Android. But as the shipping date is on February 2011, It is likely that the next major revision of Android will be available and come in this device. Acer claims this unit as 100% smartphone and 100% tablet. But we hope that it won’t have 200% price of a smartphone or a tablet.
